Independent app studio · iOS · Android
We make focused iOS and Android apps, and we keep improving them long after launch. Recover deleted photos from an SD card, build a boot drive from your phone, tune a charango. No tracking, no dark patterns.
Craft
Four things every ByteHaven app is made of. Each line below is in an app you can download today, not a capability we are advertising.
Native iPhone and iPad apps in Swift and SwiftUI. TuneHaven, Charango and Banjo are on the App Store, each a SwiftUI interface over a shared Kotlin core; TuneHaven adds a home-screen widget, Live Activities while you practise, and StoreKit purchases.
Native Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, with a shared multiplatform core when it earns its keep. BootForge, DriveForge and Unerased are native Android talking to real USB hardware; TuneHaven runs one Kotlin core on both phones; Warpling puts a Go networking core under Compose. Built for the real spread of devices, not just the demo phone.
The parts an app needs to be real, built alongside it rather than as a separate project. Ours are all in production: the image catalogue BootForge downloads from, the CDN and signed update feed behind the Mac build, and the feedback intake this very site runs on.
Most studios disappear at launch. We stay: OS updates, crash triage, performance work, and the features that turn a v1 into something people keep on their home screen. The Mac build carries its own signed update feed with incremental patches, so an install that has been sitting for months catches up by itself.
Apps
A native Android app for building Ventoy multiboot USB drives over USB OTG — rescue systems, installers, and disk tools on one drive. Private by default: no ads, no accounts, no tracking.
iPhone version on the way.
bootforge.bytehavenstudios.com →Format USB sticks and SD cards from your phone, with no computer and no root: plug the drive in over OTG, pick a filesystem, and DriveForge formats it and reads it back to verify. exFAT, FAT32, FAT16 and ext4 are free, along with a fake-capacity test, speed tests and a filesystem check. One Pro unlock adds NTFS, FAT32 past 32 GB and drives split into several partitions. It names the drive before it erases anything. From the same workshop as BootForge; no ads, no account, no tracking.
Recovers deleted files from the SD cards and USB drives you plug into your phone, and shows you a real preview of what it can get back before you pay anything. It opens the drive read-only and never writes to it. External media only: it can't recover your phone's internal storage, and we'd rather tell you now than after you've paid. No internet permission, no ads, no subscription.
A tuner for guitar, bass, ukulele, violin and 14 more instruments, plus voice — with courses, a chord library and a practice toolkit around it. It asserts nothing it can't actually know: no early green, and it never switches strings behind your back. Fully offline, no ads, no account.
A tuner, chord library, songbook and courses for the Andean charango, from the same workshop as TuneHaven. Ten strings in five pairs and ten pegs that all look alike, so it shows you the headstock and marks the peg to turn. Then it hands you the instrument: strum the charango on screen through 37 songs. Fully offline, no ads, no subscription.
A tuner, chord library, songbook and courses for the banjo, 5-string and tenor, from the same workshop as TuneHaven and Charango. The tuner puts the headstock on screen and marks the peg to turn, fifth-string drone included. Then it hands you the instrument: pick a single string or strum all five, along to a song's chords. Fully offline, no ads, no subscription.
Gets an Xbox or PlayStation onto any Minecraft Bedrock server, straight from your phone. Consoles only list partner servers and join everything else through a LAN world, so Warpling is that LAN world: your console joins it, and Warpling hands it straight on to the server you picked. No PC, no DNS to change, no account, and connecting is never paywalled. Not an official Minecraft product; not approved by or associated with Mojang or Microsoft.
Fill in a PDF form, sign it and send it back in a couple of minutes, without a printer, an account or a subscription. Type straight into the form’s fields, add text, dates and check marks anywhere, and draw or type your signature on the page. Need a W-9, W-8BEN or another US tax form? Get the blank form in the app and fill it there. Saving your signed PDF is never behind a paywall and carries no watermark. Your documents and signatures are never uploaded: they stay on your phone until you save or share them yourself. No account, no ads.
A short, deliberate lineup — each app fully finished before the next, never a pile of half-built ones. Neither of these is on a store yet, and we say so here until a listing is genuinely public. Submitted is not shipped: no app is called live here until its listing answers.
An offline income, mileage and expense ledger for mobile notaries and loan-signing agents: every signing, every mile, and Schedule C-ready exports when tax time arrives. Android and iPhone, and it asks for no permissions at all.
Built and tested · not submitted yet
notaledge.bytehavenstudios.com →Turns an Android tablet or phone into a second monitor for a Windows PC over USB. A real Windows display driver rather than a screen-share, which is what keeps the lag low enough to actually work on.

Process
Every app starts by pulling the idea apart — what's the smallest version that proves it works, and what's genuinely hard.
Short cycles, working builds on real hardware early via TestFlight and Play tracks — tested across the actual spread of phones, not just the one on the desk.
Review submissions, signing, store listings, release management — the unglamorous half of shipping, and the half that decides whether launch day is uneventful.
After launch we keep the app current and the roadmap moving. The same person who built it is the one improving it.
Principles
We ship fewer things, fully finished. A release waits until it is.
No ads, no nags, no dark patterns. Private by default.
We say what's done, what isn't, and what it costs. No launch-day overclaim, no roadmap we can't keep.
Clean foundations and restraint with fads. We build things meant to age well, not just to demo.
The person who builds the app is the one who answers your email.
Built to keep.
Questions
Native iOS and Android apps — utilities and tools built to do a real job well. Each one is private by default, works offline where it can, and is made to keep rather than to chase a trend.
Honestly — and never by selling your data or your attention. There are no ads and no tracking, full stop. Where an app is paid, it's a straightforward price on the store, and in return you get software that keeps working for you.
Our focus is our own apps, so we're not a general dev shop. If you're building something that's genuinely a fit for how we work, say hello — but no promises, and no sales pipeline.
Depends on the app. We build native for each platform rather than cutting cross-platform corners where they'd cost quality, and each app ships where it makes sense — sometimes one platform first, then the other.
That's the whole point. We stay on after release — OS updates, fixes, performance work, and the steady stream of features that turn a v1 into something worth keeping on your home screen. Same people, start to finish.
